Who Can Join the IAFC
IAFC membership isn’t just for fire chiefs. Membership is open to fire and EMS professionals of all ranks including fire service officers and chiefs, non-chief officers, company officers, and association industry personnel.
Divisions
The IAFC consists of eight divisions representing distinct geographic areas of the United States and all of Canada. Divisions provide a channel between the IAFC and the local fire/EMS community and support advocacy, education and networking.

Sections
IAFC Sections connect members with peers who share similar specialties and interests, providing valuable networking, professional development, and industry-specific resources. Through publications, workshops, conferences, and online discussions, members gain access to expert knowledge and best practices tailored to their area of expertise. IAFC Membership is required to join a section.

Committees
IAFC Committees play a vital role in the association’s governance, policy and program functions. Committee members are subject matter experts, gather critical information, produce reports and recommendations, and provide guidance to the IAFC Board of Directors. A Full IAFC Membership is required to join a committee.
